Call For Submissions: iWorder Writing Workshop August, 2022

iWorder announces its first-ever writing workshop, the Art of Creation, led by Pelumi Salako and PK Daami. The workshop is open to all writers of Nigerian residence aged between 18 and 25.

Slots are very limited, as iWorder seeks a learning environment as intimate and closely-knitted as possible.

Workshop Details

The workshop will be held both online and in physical gatherings spontaneously over a span of two months. All physical meeting places will likewise be asynchronous but within the premises of Ile Ife, Osun state.

The workshop will be limited to eight Nigerian writers selected on the basis of their submitted samples or excerpts. Students admitted into the workshop, especially non-Ife residents will have to cover accommodation and feeding themselves. Although, the iWorder team will offer a stipend and accommodation for two students who can prove their need for them.

Art of Creation will focus on the discussion and critique of the participants’ writing as well as the study of the craft through reading, active writing, analysis, editing, and consultation.

Submission Deadline

The submission period is from August 10th to October 5th. Successful applicants will be informed before October 10th.

Eligibility

The workshop is open to: .

  • Writers aged between 18 and 25, and based in Nigeria.
  • Writers who have not yet published a full-length novel with a traditional publisher (self-published authors may apply).

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Send a single short story, poem(s), or prose-poetry piece of no more than 5 pages via the form below.
  2. Your work should be formatted in 12pt Arial, Times New Roman, or Garamond.
  3. Previously published pieces are allowed.
  4. Enter your contact or email address in the form along with your submission.
  5. Deadline: October 5th, 2022.
